My good friend told me to create an account on steemit and start posting some stories, so here is my first one. It's about the ideas and concepts behind burn events like Burning Man and how we can incorporate the good parts into our daily lives without having to go into the desert.
Why I stopped going to Burn Events, But Still Live the Good Parts
Burning Flipside is only a little over a week away! I'm going to miss it this year, mainly because I'll be kicking off my journey around the world, but I feel that, fortunately, my life has sort of become flipside in a way, in that I'm able to release all of my creative energy on the canvas of life as opposed to just the canvas of a burn event.
Anyway, I went to my first flipside back in 2007, just a few months after I moved to Austin. I loved it so much, I went back in 2008 and wrote another deep story about my experience. It also happened to be the very same year that we wrote an entire play with a bunch of musical songs from scratch, based on the theme of the event. Here is the script from that play, called Dr. Tiki's Combustible Medicine Show! If this doesn't give you an idea of the essence of Burning Flipside, then you should go there and see for yourself!
